Social Media Management In the world of media the biggest thing is content and engagement. If followers are not engaged in what you have to say then you will lose interest and eventually followers. Wordstream.com has said,   "social networks are the 2 nd most popular way to research brands, just behind search engines". In order to keep interest in your brand you have to keep up on your social media to keep people researching and buying your great product. So for this post I'm going to talk about content curation, which "is about mining the internet for material that can be shared on your social networks." ( The Definitive Guide to Content Curation: Strategies, Tips, and Tools : A Hootsuite Blog by Natalie). In the previous blog post I talked about Qualman's book, What happens on Campus Stays on Youtube . Going back to this book Qualman says, "Instead of aiming for broad and shallow, focus on a few things with depth. Find your niche". In the case of finding content for your social media you want to stay with content relevant to who you are and your interests. We need to create a "Content Curation Strategy" that will allow us to post "meaningful and organized" content. Being Professional Online

Upon reading articles online and a book called What Happens on Campus Stays on YouTube for a new media class I wanted to share some main points from one of those articles and this book.    While reading this book I loved some advice that Qualman gives to his readers; "Live as though your family is watching". This is a very effective way to remember to be professional in any  situation as many people respect family members and their opinions (In-laws may be the exception 😉). There are 36 rules that are stated in this book to improve your online reputation. I'll write about one or two of my favorites. The first one I like is rule #3 "KISS: Keep It Super Simple".
